Jogscotland RunLivingston is a mixed ability group open to the whole community looking to get healthier in a supportive and friendly environment.

The group also welcomes TeamJak volunteers preparing for fundraising activities and we also have our own page to allow supporters to donate through our efforts:

Initially starting from West Lothian College (Almondvale Cres, West Lothian EH54 7EP), the group will take in a various routes in the Livingston area and will change throughout the year.

Fitness training sessions will also be incorporated along with JogScotland sessions on some evenings.

The group meets on Mondays from 6.30pm – 7.30pm and all fitness levels are welcome.

Who is jogscotland for?

jogscotland is for anyone over 16 (other than specific Junior jogscotland programmes) who wants to make a positive move towards improving their health and wellbeing through a progressive exercise programme delivered by trained Jog Leaders who offer guidance and support.  There is no upper age limit on being part of jogscotland. (Under 16s may take part in jogscotland sessions if they have parental permission and it’s OK with the Jog Leader and other group members).

Do I have to be fit before I start at jogscotland?

No, there is no required level of initial fitness and no test to pass before you can join jogscotland.  We do however recommend a check up with your GP before you start if you have any pre-existing medical condition that might affect your participation in an exercise programme.

jogscotland has three levels to meet different people’s needs:

• Beginners' walk-jog

• Intermediate jog

• Advanced jog-run

All sessions are supervised by a Jog Leader specially trained in fitness, health, motivation, walking and running.

Won't the "proper runners" get frustrated because I'm so slow?

At jogscotland, every single person who wants to come along and take part is an important member of the group. There is a warm welcome for everyone, including complete beginners who have never run before and are starting from scratch. Lots of other people will be in the same boat as you, or will have been there themselves not so long ago. Our Jog Leaders are specially-trained to support people of all levels of fitness to exercise at a level that is appropriate for them, and you'll find that your fellow group members have the same friendly, welcoming attitude to new members.

We are always looking for New Leaders. If anyone would like to show an interest then please come and have a chat.
